This Could Be Anything

Track 10

I wrote this while writing the album and looking back at the lyrics, I believe it’s about the process of actually writing the album. The pressure and stress of producing this body of work was something that felt so big.

Working on it morning to night every day for months and trying to make it as perfect as possible. At times it was quite punishing and the pressure got to me, there’s nothing quite like using that hyper sensitivity and angst to write more songs.

Lyrics

I’ll carry what is left so happily
Happy as a drunk in the opening scene
Happy as a baby dangling
Feet over sea not knowing
Meaning nothing just enjoying (just enjoying)
Crying left stirring in the morning
(waking up aching from falling)
Waking up aching from falling
Just a bad sleep nothing too haunting

This could be anything but It’s this
This could be anything but It’s this

This one’s to share this one’s to keep
(This one’s to share this one’s to keep)
How many bottles until the truth unsheaths
Like a small blade cutting through the ribs
Why the hell have I gotta dig so deep

This could be anything but It’s this
I could be anything but I’m this
This could be anything but It’s this
I could be anything but I’m this

Ahh bottled up and fizzing
Understanding the juxtaposition
Of a conversation and concealing
Barely sharing or revealing

This could be anything but (ahhh) It’s this
This could be anything but (ahh) It’s this

(mmmm)
